Photography
In my spare time I love to hike, travel, and find winding roads to get lost on. I always bring my camera with me, and over the years I’ve been fortunate enough to see and photograph some really amazing places. Even when I put my camera down for a few months, I find that I always come back to it as a way to more fully absorb the beauty of world around me. The technical aspects of photography mixed with the creative elements of capturing the right moments is a great form of meditation that really forces me to slow down and think about how it all comes together.
Photography also carries over into my professional life–I am always creating visuals and story lines to simplify and explain sophisticated concepts. It’s a great way to align people around a common understanding and debate different options. As the saying goes, “a picture is worth a thousand words.”
I shoot semi-professionally and most recently have gotten into drone and car photography. Something about the contrast of mechanical lines of a car against the beauty of nature is inspiring to me. Man-made and natural beauty juxtaposed in a moment.
Have a look at my work below and let me know what you think. It’s also available for purchase on Getty Images and my personal photography site–Shutterscript. The “Shutterscript” name originated from the days when I used to write prose and poetry with my photos–thankfully, I pursued a career in software. All the images you see at the links below and on this website are my own and under full copyright.
